St. Sion’s Church is a four-chancel centric domed church, built of local reddish-brown tuff stone in the seventh century. The cupola and the clerestory of the drum as well as the former tiled roofs of the aisles have not been preserved. In 1950-s the preserved parts of the church have been partially reconstructed, the aisles and the drum have been covered with temporary tinned roof.
All the works of planned reconstruction provide:
  1. To restore the drum, the cupola, tiled roof of the cupola and aisles, hall’s tuff tiled floor of St. Sion’s Church.
  2. To restore the decayed stones of main entrance, walls and plinths.
  3. To place a wooden door and windows.
  4. To equip the area with modern amenities.
In this stage we propose to implement reconstruction works of the drum and the cupola of St. Sion’s Church.
