This Digest of scientific and research works' abstracts - is a first experience of this kind,
for collection and publication of such materials. A large massif of report materials, accumulated
in ArmNIINTI, required the publication of this issue.
This Digest includes the results of research activity of a large army of Armenian scientists,
working in various areas of science and technology, completed in 1993-1997. These materials
have been selected from report materials, including information cards, of Ministry of Economy
and research organizations of the Republic, accumulated in ArmNIINTI.
Materials, published in this Digest, have been formed and structurized in connection with
"Nomenclature of specialities for degrees conferment" issued by Highest Attestation Commission
by three-level rubrics.
Before the text are adduced:
a) ordinal number of document, consisted of third level rubric and through number;
b) bibliographical description of a document, including title of the work, name of organization,
family name of the supervisor of studies, year and number of pages.
This work has been compiled by the standard of a "Digest of abstracts", originated by Russian
Centre of Scientific Information. But, because of many subjective factors, it was difficult for
compilers to provide right away world level quality of this information. Publishers hope, that after
publication of this complicated work in Russian and English on paper carrier, and then on laser
disc (CD-ROM), many omissions and inaccuracies, which are undoubtedly present in this
work, will be corrected in our day-to-day dialogue.
Official registration of documents may be considerably facilitated later on, if scientists, receiving
state financing of their themes, will present their abstracts in three languages (Armenian,
Russian, English).
ArmNIINTI is planning to publish Digest of abstracts periodically by current materials and
series of themes, and in this connection, the Department of Intellectual Property Database
(DIPD) of the Institute continues this work with abstracts received at the end of 1997 and in
1998.
